Powerswitch in Metal Housing
Experience has shown that the relays of times switches are often overloaded if they are repeatedly used to switch high currents.Overloading causes arcing and arc burns on the relay contacts. The resistance of the contacts increases and the contacts then weld together.
This switch, which was developed to break high currents, is plugged into the time switch socket and controlled by the time switch relay.
It consists of an AC-operated contactor installed in a robust metal housing to prevent harmonic interference during switching.
Two terminal clips connected to the contactor are installed on the front panel of the unit.
The contactor is a normally open device which assumes the function of a normally closed contact when the unit is operated in combination with a time switch.
The switch is equipped with a spark killer to prevent arcing and material loss. A resistance capacitance element on the contactor field winding to reduce induction loads on the control circuit.
Mountings for permanent installation are available.
